NPSL

The bridge between elite youth football and the professional game.

01What it is

The National Premier Soccer League is a national competition in the United States, organized into regional conferences. For Fuego it does the same job as The League for Clubs: it is where a player who has outgrown age-group football gets tested against senior opposition before anyone calls them professional.

Like The League for Clubs, the NPSL is senior only. It holds our top-level side and no youth age groups. The levels beneath it all sit in the Lightning League, which is where a player comes from before they reach this one.

02The bridge works

Kevin Garcia debuted for Fuego FC at 16, spent his development in this bridge stage with the U23 side, and transferred to Club Deportivo Guadalajara at 18 for a club-record fee. It was the first transfer of its kind from the Central Valley, and it came out of exactly this structure.
