Est. 2002

Fresno Fuego is Central Valley Fuego FC

Same club, same flame, since 2002. Two names, one organization.

01The short answer

If you are looking for Fresno Fuego, you have found us. The club was founded in Fresno in 2002 and is still here. Both names are ours and we use them side by side: Fresno Fuego is the founding name, Central Valley Fuego FC is the regional one.

02Where the name comes from

Fuego is the Spanish word for fire. The club was founded in 2002 as Fresno Fuego and played in the Premier Development League, the amateur tier that sat below the professional divisions.

The founding was financed by the Marquez Family of Marquez Brothers International, the company behind El Mexicano, in memory of Ana Delia Marquez. Tony and Cisco Alvarez ran day-to-day operations in the early years, when the club played its home matches at Fresno Pacific University.

Fresno Fuego and Central Valley Fuego FC are not two clubs, and the second is not a rebrand of the first. They are one organization with two names.
